Some of you may know chef Lucie Pukanova from her work over the past 6 years as a yacht chef. She has worked on M/Y Starship, M/Y Trident and M/Y Aspen Alternative to name a few. Maybe you worked with her, or perhaps you have marvelled over her adventurous life on her Instagram – @lucieee.p
Well, now this hard-working yacht chef and her new husband need our help!
I’ll hand over the words to Rusty, Lucie’s husband:
“My name is Rusty, and I’m reaching out to our incredible community for support during this challenging time.
Just two years ago, fate brought us together, and we knew instantly that we were meant to be.
Our love for each other grew steadily, and a year ago, we celebrated our marriage, solidifying our bond as partners in life’s journey, cherishing every moment we spend together. Lucie’s radiant smile and boundless love have enriched my life in more ways than words can express.
However, our happiness was unexpectedly interrupted when Lucie noticed her arm swelling, prompting a visit to the hospital. The diagnosis left us in shock – she was told she had blood clots in her arm, then to find out was caused by a mass in her chest which turns out is lymphoma. On top of that there is fluid surrounding her heart and her lungs. In the blink of an eye, our world turned upside down. Now we have to focus on getting her a treatment she needs.
Currently, we are in a hospital in the USA , where Lucie’s battle with lymphoma has taken a toll on us, both emotionally and financially. As a non-U.S. citizen without insurance, the medical expenses have been daunting. Once Lucie’s condition stabilizes, she will have to return to the Czech Republic for ongoing treatment. This also means I will be leaving my job behind, to stand by her side, which means we will have no source of income during this challenging time.
We are setting up this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Lucie’s ongoing medical treatments, including chemotherapy, medications, and other essential support, travel costs to the Czech Republic, and essential living expenses during her treatment and recovery journey. Your generous contributions will not only alleviate our financial stress but also allow us to focus solely on Lucie’s recovery and well-being.
Every little bit helps, and your support means the world to us. Whether it’s a donation, a share on social media, or keeping us in your thoughts and prayers, we are immensely grateful for your compassion and empathy.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of our journey. Your love and support give us the strength to face each day with courage and optimism.”
